Kaumaram - Murugan worship

There are 5 forms of worship :

Ganapathyam ... Lord Ganesha
Saivam .............. Lord Siva

Sauram ............. Lord Surya, Lord Agni

Shaktham ......... Maha Sakhti Amman
Kaumaram ........ Lord Murugan

Murugan is based on the principles of Saivam.

The word 'Kaumar' (or Kumar) means youth and 'Murugu' means beauty. Lord Murugan (also known as 'Kumaran') is worshipped as the ever
youthful, handsome and powerful God.

Ohm is the symbol carried by Lord Muruga. The Vel is the mighty weapon given by Athi Parasakthi to be used to destroy evil. The Vel is called Sakthi Vel.
